Working with Open Dialog

“Open Log Files” dialog allow manage log files list that can be opened using IAS Log Viewer.

Basic actions that can be performed in this dialog:

  • Add Log File(s). Add one or more files in opened files list.
  • Add Directory. Add folder in opened files list.
  • Add Active Log File. Add active log in opened files list. Active log is file that is used to write data in present moment. This parameter will work only when IAS Log Viewer start on the same computer where IAS server and log files are placed.
  • Add Active Directory. Add active folder in opened files list. Active log folder is folder that is used to write data in present moment. This parameter will work only when IAS Log Viewer start on the same computer where IAS server and log files are placed.
  • Add. Use simplest dialog to add text in opened files list. You can enter file name manually without standard Open file dialog box.
  • Modify. Change current element in opened files list.
  • Edit. Use simplest dialog box to modify text in opened files list.
  • Remove item. Remove current item from opened files list.
  • Remove all. Opened files list clean up.

Additional options that have an influence on IAS Log Viewer work are:

  • Always open this selection at startup option manages automatically log files opening on IAS Log Viewer start. This option check will open log files from current list automatically on IAS Log Viewer start.
  • Don’t show at startup option allows or denies show open files dialog on IAS Log Viewer start.

Show/Hide interval controls command allows to using date controls for open interval definition. “Open interval” feature allow loading part of selected data only. IAS Log Viewer analyze all log files from open dialog and load logs that dates crossed with “open interval”. While you are not defining “Open interval” IAS Log Viewer open all log files from dialog.
